Rooster birth years: 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017. Your year branch is 酉.
酉 has no branch relationship with 未 — no six harmony, clash, trine, harm, break or punishment. The Rooster is one of the five signs structurally neutral to the 2027 year branch. But the stem relationship here is a specific, named one, and it is the most interesting thing about a Rooster's 2027. The year opens at Lichun on 4 February 2027.
酉 is pure 辛 — Yin Metal, the only branch that holds a single stem and nothing else. The 2027 year stem is 丁, Yin Fire. 丁 Fire meeting 辛 Metal is a classical formulation: 丁火煉辛金, Yin Fire refining Yin Metal.
Technically this is 火克金, Fire controlling Metal — a conflict relation. Classically it is not read as damage. 辛 is refined metal, jewellery and blades rather than ore, and 丁 is a controlled flame rather than a wildfire. The pairing is the one that makes 辛 into a finished object. The chart shows pressure that shapes rather than pressure that erodes, which is a distinction the five-element cycle alone does not capture.
This only holds for 丁 against 辛. 丙 Fire against 辛 — which is what 2026 was — is the destructive version, too much heat for refined metal. A Rooster coming out of 丙午 into 丁未 is moving from the harsh pairing to the productive one.
未 Earth generates Metal (土生金), so the year branch supplies your element while the stem works it. Combined with the refining relationship above, 2027 is structurally one of the better-configured years available to a Rooster — resource from below, shaping from above, and no branch conflict at all.
酉 is one of the four 自刑 self-punishing branches, with 辰, 午 and 亥. A Rooster carrying 酉 twice or more natally has a standing configuration independent of 2027, and it is worth knowing because it changes how added Metal sits.
酉 is the 桃花 peach blossom of the 申子辰 group — which means the Rooster occupies the attraction position for Monkey, Rat and Dragon, permanently, regardless of year. In 2027 the Goat year's own peach blossom is 子, the Rat, because the year sits in 亥卯未. Two different peach blossom positions are live at once, assigned to different groups. Forecasts that treat 桃花 as a single annual star get this wrong every year.
None involve 未. Dragon is your 六合 six harmony (辰酉). Snake and Ox complete your 巳酉丑 Metal trine, and the Ox is the sign carrying the 2027 clash. Rabbit is your 卯酉 clash, and the Rabbit sits inside the year's Wood trine this year. Rat is a 六破 six break (子酉) and Dog a 六害 harm (酉戌).
A Life Blueprint reading shows whether your Metal is 辛 or 庚 and how much of it there is, which is what the refining reading depends on. The full twelve-sign breakdown is here.
