Dog birth years: 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018. Your year branch is 戌.
The Dog has the second most loaded position in 2027, and like the Ox it carries two relationships at once. 戌 and 未 form a 六破 — a six break. 丑, 戌 and 未 form the 丑戌未 earth punishment, and the Dog holds one of the three characters natally. The year begins at Lichun on 4 February 2027.
This is the distinction that matters most for the Dog in 2027, and almost nothing written in English makes it. A clash (六冲) is a head-on collision: one event, decisive, and it cracks open what both branches store. A break (六破) does not collide. It loosens. The chart shows a slow structural weakening — arrangements that were holding stop holding, not because something hit them but because the binding went.
So a Dog in 2027 should not expect the single dramatic event an Ox gets from 丑未. The pattern is attrition: commitments quietly losing their shape, agreements that need renewing, things that worked last year needing to be fixed in place again.
戌 is Earth and the storehouse of Fire — it holds 戊 (Yang Earth), 辛 (Yin Metal) and 丁 (Yin Fire). 未 is Earth and the storehouse of Wood, holding 己, 丁 and 乙. Both branches carry 丁 Fire, and the 2027 year stem is 丁. That doubling is worth noting: the year stem sits in both storehouses already, which is why the 戌未 relationship reads as internal rather than external.
丑戌未 is the 恃势之刑 — the punishment of relying on position. In 2027 two of the three characters are live: your natal 戌 and the year's 未. A Dog whose chart also carries 丑 Ox in the month, day or hour pillar completes the full three-way configuration and is in a materially different year from a Dog who does not. That single check is worth more than any general 2027 Dog forecast.
Rabbit is the Dog's 六合 six-harmony partner (卯戌) — and in 2027 the Rabbit sits inside the year's own Wood trine, which makes it the Dog's most useful structural connection this year. Tiger and Horse complete the Dog's 寅午戌 Fire trine, and the Horse is in six harmony with the year. Dragon remains the Dog's 辰戌 clash, independent of 2027. Ox is the sign to watch, for the punishment reason above.
Where the break registers depends on which pillar 戌 occupies. A This Year reading locates it. The full twelve-sign breakdown is here.
